The identity of the man found deceased on Buffalo Road in Trigg County has been released by Kentucky State Police and investigation determined his death was a homicide.
According to a news release, troopers responded to reports of a deceased person off Buffalo Road around 12:53 p.m. on Wednesday. Investigation determined the victim was 35-year old Keith “Joey” Hayes of Hopkinsville and an autopsy was conducted at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.
The autopsy reportedly showed that Hayes died from multiple gunshot wounds and KSP states that they feel this was an isolated incident and do not think it was a random act of violence.
As previously reported, Hayes was reported missing this week to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation continues and anyone with information on the incident can call KSP at 1-800-222-5555.
