CCSO arrests three for drug trafficking

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department arrested three people on various drug trafficking charges Saturday night following a major bust on Butler Road.

Deputies were in the area on an unrelated call when they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from 2603 Butler Road, according to a news release.

Police found a man carrying a bag near the rear of a home and he was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and struggle.

Narcotics were allegedly found in the bag and the man gave police consent to search the home.

There, deputies say they found 11 pounds of marijuana, one pound of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a .40 caliber handgun.

The investigation led to the arrests of 47-year old Patrick Moody, 49-year old Steven Moody and 24-year old Dedrick Lewis. All three were charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and Patrick Moody is also charged with fleeing or evading police and tampering with evidence.
