Black Friday and a weekend of full of shopping got underway without a hitch in Hopkinsville, with some people even starting their shopping Thursday evening.
Several businesses on Sixth Street in downtown Hopkinsville opened early Friday morning, including the Bella Marie Boutique. Store Manager Cassie Southard says they opened at 7 a.m. and were very busy, with the deals continuing throughout the day and Saturday.
Derek Miller-Reynolds with The Miller’s Son says they were excited to open for their first Black Friday in Hopkinsville and they had a good crowd.
Sixth Street Boutique Owner Janey Moss says they’ll have deals all weekend as well and she saw lots of people out shopping in the morning.
JC Penney was one of those businesses that opened Thursday afternoon, along with the Walmart Supercenter. There were no reports of any altercations in Hopkinsville due to the shopping craze.
