Former Christian County standout Detorrion Ware had 10 points and a rebound in Jacksonville State’s 83-54 win over Western Carolina at the Cancun Challenge. The Gamecocks face North Florida in the Mayan Division championship game this afternoon.

Lipscomb University picked up its first win over a ranked Division One team last night in upsetting 18th ranked TCU 73-64 on the Horned Frogs home floor. TCU had a 30-29 lead at the half and was outscored 44-34 in the second half. Former Caldwell County standout Eli Pepper had four points and five rebounds in 22 minutes of playing time.

Western Kentucky’s Lady Toppers played a matinee game Tuesday and defeated Southern Illinois 83-76. The Lady Toppers get their first win of the season and the first win for new coach Greg Collins. WKU is back in action Thanksgiving night against 9th ranked Oregon State at the Vancouver Showcase.

In other women’s action: Murray State improved to 3-1 on the season with a 97-61 win over Lipscomb. The Racers led by as many as 37 in the game and play at Arkansas State next Tuesday.

Today’s games: 10th ranked Kentucky is back in action hosting Winthrop at Rupp Arena, with pregame at 10:30 this morning on Lite Rock 98.7 and lite987whop.com.

Other games include 5th ranked Tennessee facing Louisville in the NIT Season Tip Off in Brooklyn, NY. Women’s action has Vanderbilt hosting Tennessee State.
