Kentucky State Police and law enforcement agencies across the commonwealth will be out in full force in the coming days looking to keep roads as safe as possible during the Thanksgiving travel period.
State troopers will concentrate their increased patrols on high traffic areas such as interstates and parkways, along with high crash locations.
A news release says they will be observing for individuals exhibiting unsafe driving behaviors, such as, reckless driving, speeding, and impaired driving. The holiday enforcement period will be highlighted by troopers aggressively targeting those people who choose not to wear seatbelts or use child safety restraints.
KSP says they will also be setting up safety checkpoints in an effort to take impaired motorists off the roads.
Four people were killed on Kentucky roads last year during the Thanksgiving holiday time period.
