Man hurt in Cox Mill Road rollover wreck

A Hopkinsville man was injured in a rollover wreck on Cox Mill Road after he lost control of the vehicle and overcorrected.

According to the report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle driven by 61-year old William Bowie of Hopkinsville was southbound on Cox Mill when the right side of the vehicle dipped off the road. Bowie attempted to correct and ended up reportedly over-correcting, causing the vehicle to spin out of control.

The vehicle flipped once in the roadway and come to a stop on its side. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle told officers that Bowie lost consciousness for approximately a minute. Bowie was able to kick out the windshield and the juvenile helped pull him from the vehicle.

Bowie was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for back and head injuries while the passenger was not injured. Alcohol is not listed as a factor.
