While the chance for wintry weather has lessened some for Christian, Todd and Trigg counties Monday night, the chance for ice and snow exists for Wednesday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, rain may change over to snow at some point Monday night, especially over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. No significant snow or ice accumulations are expected, but low temperatures could freeze moisture on the roadways, possibly causing slick conditions.
A round of wintry weather could occur Wednesday night into Thursday morning, when rain is expected to transition into a wintry mix of snow and ice, before becoming rain once more as temperatures warm up Thursday. Travel could possibly be impacted, depending on accumulation.
