What began as an investigation into a possible shooting incident Sunday evening in Cadiz is now believed to have been a hoax.
Kentucky State Trooper Jay Thomas says Trigg County Dispatch received a call just after 5 p.m. about a possible shooting on Jefferson Street. Cadiz Police requested KSP to respond and Jefferson was closed for a couple hours as police investigated the call.
Investigators now believe the call was a hoax, as KSP did not find any evidence that a shooting occurred.
State Police continue to investigate to determine the identity of the caller.
