Polls will be open across the country for the general election Tuesday and there are just over 52,000 people registered to vote in Christian County.
There are 27,681 Democrats, 19,410 Republicans, 1,468 independents and 3,595 registered as ‘other.’
Christian County Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries reminds that it party affiliation doesn’t matter in a general election—it only matters that you’re registered to vote. She says polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 6 pm. Tuesday and it’s a good idea to bring your identification to your polling place.
All registered voters in Christian County can vote in races for U.S. representative, state representative, commonwealth’s attorney, sheriff and coroner. Most also have local races such as mayor, city council or commission, fiscal court magistrate and school board.
We will have live election coverage Tuesday evening beginning at 6 on News Radio WHOP 95.3 FM and 1230 AM and online at whopam.com.
