Representatives of multiple agencies, universities, media organizations and the general public were at the Christian County Extension Office Saturday for the Ken Tenn Weather Workshop.
Christian County native Rick Shanklin of the National Weather Service office at Paducah says it’s the first time the workshop co-hosted by the Paducah, Nashville and Louisville bureaus was held Hopkinsville and there was a good turnout.
He says it’s just another way to conduct outreach in the communities they serve and hopefully help more people become more weather aware.
Many local weather spotters were in the crowd and students from Western Kentucky University spoke on research they conducted on weather events out in the field.
