Absentee voting continues to be steady

The election is less than a week away and over 500 people have already voted absentee in Christian County.

As of Wednesday morning, 376 of those absentee ballots were cast in person at the Christian County Clerk’s Office and 130 were submitted through the mail. Approximately 32 mail-in absentee ballots have still not been returned.

Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries says in house absentee voting will continue during regular business hours through Monday and during special hours Saturday.

Todd County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan says they’ve had 117 people vote absentee at her office and approximately 25 mail-in ballots have been returned. Saturday absentee voting hours in Todd County will go from 9 until noon at the clerk’s office.
