David Bell is the new manager of the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds announced Sunday they signed Bell to a three-year contract that includes a team option for the 2022 season. He will be formally introduced today. Bell becomes the 63rd manager in team history.
The 46-year-old served as vice president of player development in San Francisco this past season. He was a coach with the St. Louis Cardinals before that. Bell takes over after the Reds fired manager Bryan Price following a 3-and-15 start. Jim Riggleman was interim manager the rest of the way as Cincinnati finished 67-and-95. Bell played parts of 12 big league seasons with six clubs.
