Temperatures fell below freezing for the first time this fall this morning and the cold weather is expected to linger for a little while.
A freeze warning remains is in effect until 9 a.m. for all of western Kentucky and middle Tennessee is under a frost advisory. Any sensitive vegetation that was left uncovered overnight may have been damaged or killed.
Hopkinsville bottomed out at about 30 degrees, Elkton got down to 28 and Cadiz saw a low of 30.
Frost is likely to develop again Monday morning when temperatures are forecast to bottom out in the lower 30’s.
