Rep. Thomas receives Friend of Kentucky Cities Award

The Kentucky League of Cities recently presented State Representative Walker Thomas with a 2018 Friend of Kentucky Cities award.

According to a news release, the award is bestowed on legislators who are instrumental in advocating for issues and securing passage of legislation important to cities. Thomas was recognized for his sponsorship of House Bill 310, which improves efficiencies by allowing state and local governments to submit information electronically to the Department for Local Government and the Legislative Research Commission.

Representative Thomas says, “I am proud to have helped cities modernize their reporting procedures. It is essential that we provide local governments with all the tools available to be good stewards of tax dollars while also improving the speed at which government works and communicates.”
