Sanctuary, Inc. working to keep victims and pets together

Little River Park in downtown Hopkinsville was filled with dogs and their owners Saturday morning, to support Sanctuary, Inc.’s Pet Protection Program and cut down on animal abuse.

Domestic abuse survivor Nicole Mann says statistics show that victims are likely to stay in abusive situations to protect their pets and this program would allow the animals to come with them.

She says they have help with those situations currently, but the long-term goal is to have kennels at Sanctuary, Inc.

Mann says the turnout to the first event was amazing as they showed up to help fight not only domestic abuse, but animal abuse.

Sanctuary, Inc. serves nine counties and accepts donations, not only for this program but others as well. To make a donation to the agency, call 270-885-4572 for more information.
