Burglary turns deadly in Stewart County

Police in Stewart County, Tennessee are investigating after one person was killed and another was injured after walking into their home Sunday and finding a burglary in progress.

The couple walked in their home on Rorie Hollow Road near Indian Mound and found the suspect inside, according to the Stewart County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect killed one of the residents and injured the other, with that person taken to an area hospital.

The home was set on fire and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle believed to be a black 2005 Chrysler 300 with Tennessee license plate 447-MBC.

The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build and thinning hair.
