Arrest warrants against a local couple allege they beat a girl with a belt when she couldn’t remember the password to her cell phone.
The alleged incident happened on August 24th and the warrants say 31-year old Travis Smith and 29-year old Geraldine Santiago of Hopkinsville dragged the juvenile victim into their home by her hair.
Both suspects allegedly used a belt to whip the victim, leaving injuries from the belt buckle on her lower back.
Smith and Santiago are charged with first-degree criminal child abuse and were lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
