The Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers will be hosting a BBQ fundraiser to raise money for the Crime Stoppers reward program.
According to a news release, the program has paid out over $274,000 in rewards to date to anonymous tipsters who lead to the arrests of wanted fugitives. Crime Stoppers gives citizens an anonymous, confidential way of getting information to law enforcement without ever having to appear in court or give their personal information.
In order to continue providing that service, Crime Stoppers will have a fundraiser dinner on October 13 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the War Memorial Building. Attendees will receive plates with a bar-b-que half chicken, baked beans, slaw and a drink for $8 and a dessert can be purchased at the event. Patrons can come pick up a plate-to-go or eat at the event.
