Tiger Woods is tied atop the leaderboard at the BMW Championship following his best round in more than five years. Woods fired an eight-under 62 in Thursday’s opening round, his best score since the Bridgestone Invitational in 2013, which was also the last time he won a PGA Tour event.
Rory McIlroy matched Woods with a 62, while Xander Schauffele sits alone in third place at seven-under. Louisville area native Justin Thomas is among four golfers tied for fourth place at six-under. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker sits at one over par.
