Four killed in Crittenden County fire

Four people are now confirmed dead after a mobile home fire Sunday morning in Crittenden County.

As previously reported, firefighters from the Crittenden County and Salem volunteer fire departments responded to 746 Watson Cemetery Road near the Livingston County line about 4 a.m. and sheriff’s deputy Chuck Hoover said they learned quickly it was a tragic scene.

Crews quickly confirmed at least two people had died and believed two more victims were inside. Those fears were realized later in the day and Kentucky State Police has identified the victims as 75-year old Kenneth Belt, 26-year old Lindsey Dickerson, 32-year old Waylon Hillard and 1-year old Nathan Hillard.

A fifth person who had been in the home was able to escape.

KSP says what caused the single-wide mobile home to catch fire remains under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
