Six people in a pontoon boat being pulled by a pickup were injured in an accident Saturday afternoon in Trigg County.
Deputy Jared Werner says Jared Shelton was driving the pickup eastbound on Willow Lane and was about to put the boat in the water. Shelton was looking in his mirror to determine if he had clearance to make it under a branch when the right rear tire of his trailer slipped off the road into the ditch, causing the boat to roll over.
There were three adults and five juveniles on the boat and six people were hospitalized.
Linda Shelton was trapped under the boat when Deputy Werner arrived and he says she was flown by Air Evac to a Nashville hospital for injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
Sara Shelton, Carly Newton and three juveniles were taken to Trigg County Hospital.
