The Christian County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a training session Friday concerning a new six percent sales tax on certain services.
Appearing on WHOP, Director of Events and Marketing Kirstie Darnall says the event is open to community members and business owners who want to learn more about the change, and she encourages people to register.
It will take place from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Pennyrile Area Development District office. Darnall detailed some upcoming events, including the next “lunch-mob” set to take place September 9 at Brenda’s Snack Shack.
Many services saw a new sales tax following the 2018 Kentucky General Assembly, including veterinary services, the Christian County Animal Shelter, programs offered by the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department and many more. This training will walk citizens through the changes and what all has been affected.
For more information or to register, call the Chamber at 270-885-9096.
