Kentucky’s two U.S. Senators are reacting to the death of longtime senator, former presidential candidate and war hero John McCain.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued a statement saying, “Today is a deeply sad day for the Senate and for our nation. Elaine and I join all Americans in mourning the passing of our dear friend and colleague Senator John McCain.”
He continues that, “John was a constant advocate for his fellow veterans and those currently serving in uniform.”
Senator Rand Paul tweeted, “Kelley and I send our prayers and condolences to the family of Senator John McCain, a man of great courage and conviction.”
