Two people were arrested Tuesday night at the scene of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on State Line Road in Oak Grove.
As previously reported, a woman was struck by an automobile just after 8:30 and had to be flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for severe injuries. Oak Grove Police is investigating that incident.
Emergency personnel on scene reported the driver of the automobile fired a gunshot into the air when a crowd gathered near his vehicle and reports from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and Clarksville Police Department detail some of what happened in that crowd.
Sheriff’s Deputy Corey Keene arrested 28-year old Dashawn Kelly of Clarksville and an arrest citation says he was angry with an officer and began yelling and causing a disturbance. After numerous warnings and after being told he was interfering with the investigation, Kelly reportedly kept yelling over Keene’s instructions and was detained.
Kelly tried to run, but Deputy Keene used a taser to take him to the ground and arrested him for disorderly conduct and fleeing or evading police.
Just across the state line Clarksville Police responded to what’s described on a report as an “angry crowd,” Sgt. Brian Tenry ordered three individuals to get out of the roadway and 21-year old Quynerria Davis of Clarksville allegedly slapped him in the face, causing a visible injury.
Davis was arrested and charged with assault and resisting arrest.
