Titans extend tight end Matthews contract

The Tennessee Titans and tight end Rishard Matthews have agreed to a one year contract extension through 2019. The Tennessean reports the base value is worth $7.75 million. Matthews was heading into the final year and due $5 million under the contract he first signed with Tennessee.

Matthews caught 53 passes for 795 yards and four touchdowns last season. However, he did not appear in training camp and is currently on the physically unable to perform list.
