No injuries in accident involving school bus

There were no injuries reported after a Christian County school bus backed into a car Wednesday afternoon on Thomas Street.

Bus driver Delbert Rushing told Hopkinsville Police Public Safety Officer Cassidy Woods that a student had left her backpack on board and her father whistled to get his attention. When Rushing reversed to return to the home, he struck a car behind him driven by 21-year old De’Veckyon Poindexter of Hopkinsville. Rushing said he never the car behind him, according to the report.

Poindexter’s car sustained moderate damage but he and his passenger were not hurt.

Rushing and the six students on board the bus also avoided injury.
