Trigg Schools superintendent wants community members to help welcome students back on Monday

Trigg County Schools open for the new year Monday and school system Superintendent Travis Hamby is hoping community members will help welcome students as they return.

Hamby says in a statement through the Trigg County Chamber of Commerce that they, “Are wanting to create excitement among our students as they return.  We are planning to have some our band members playing music and some of our cheerleaders cheering on our students as they arrive.  We would love to have some of our community leaders, like you, join us in the celebration.  We would invite you to make signs to display such as “Welcome Back!,” or “Have a great year!” or some other encouraging statement.”

Anyone planning to participate should arrive at The Way no later than 7:15 a.m. Monday to avoid traffic congestion.  There will be a Trigg County Public Schools employee to help direct community members to a location on campus to welcome the students back.
