HPD: Altercation between women led to shots fired from moving car

Shots were fired from a moving vehicle along North Main Street near Means Avenue early Sunday morning and the woman who allegedly fired them has been arrested.

Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Tony Sierra says the victim arrived at the HPD parking lot shortly after 3 a.m. and said she was being pursued by another female in a vehicle.

Sierra says Starks began chasing the victim after finding her with an ex-boyfriend .

Shell casings were located near the police department in the area of North Main and Means Avenue, backing up the victim’s story that Starks had shot at her during the pursuit.

The pursuit had reportedly traveled down North Drive and Glass Avenue before making it to North Main. Police arrested 25-year old Brittany Starks of Hopkinsville and charged her with first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana.

No one was injured by the gunfire.
