Additional details have been released on the accident Wednesday afternoon on Antioch Church Road that claimed the life of a man on a moped.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Department report from Sgt. Adam Vanderkolk says 37-year old Adam Nelson of Hopkinsville was eastbound near the 8 mile-marker a few minutes before 2 p.m. when he entered a curve in the westbound lane.
A westbound car driven by 66-year old Calvin Powell of Hopkinsville slammed his brakes, but could not avoid a head-on collision.
Nelson was flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
Powell was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
