Additional details have been released on a fatal single-vehicle accident Saturday night at the Pennyrile Parkway-Interstate 24 interchange.
The collision report from Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Nichols says 61-year old Raymond Thomas of Calvin Drive, Hopkinsville was a suspect in an investigation at the Subway on Fort Campbell Boulevard and that he fled from Hopkinsville Police officers at a high rate of speed southbound on the Pennyrile Parkway.
Police lost sight of Thomas’ vehicle and an officer was flagged down soon after by someone saying there was a wreck on the westbound ramp to I-24.
The report says Thomas ran off the left side of the ramp going down an embankment, causing his car to flip end over end several times. Thomas was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene by Christian County Deputy Coroner Mike Stokes.
