Hoppers advance to OVL Championship Series

The Hoptown Hoppers are headed back to the Ohio Valley League Championship series following a 11-7 win over the Paducah Chiefs last night at Brooks Stadium in Paducah.The Hoppers scored five times in the second, twice in the third and three times in the sixth in getting their 25th win of the season. Cole Cummings had three hits with MJ Rookard, Nick Proto, Max Remy and John Michael Reed each adding two.

Starter Ryan Traylor pitched five innings to get the win.

It’s now a couple of off days before the Hoppers are back in action. Game one of the OVL Championship series is Friday night either at Colonel Field or on the road at Owensboro.

Last night, Owensboro opened the OVL East Division final with an 8-3 win over Dubois County. Game two of that series is this evening at Dubois County.
