Bicyclist flown to Skyline after crash

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a wreck on Walnut Street Monday evening that sent a bicyclist to a Nashville hospital.

It happened about 6:30 p.m. and the collision report from Hopkinsville Police says 51-year old Michael Bussell of Hopkinsville was leaving the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club and drove into the path of a northbound car on Walnut driven by 47-year old Joe Taylor of Hopkinsville.

Bussell sustained multiple injuries, including a possible broken leg, and was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. The report says Bussell is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Taylor was not injured in the crash.
