Waste Industries to begin Todd Co. routes Aug. 3

Waste Enterprises has reached the threshold it needed to begin residential curbside trash pickup in rural Todd County and routes are set to begin August 3rd.

The company has already begun calling those on the list of over 250 customers, according to Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield.

The initial monthly rate will be $43, though that could be reduced if additional residents sign up.

Waste Enterprises is picking up additional commercial customers after Queen City Disposal notified customers in north Todd County that they’d no longer be serving them after only two weeks or less of meeting their needs. At least one person told the judge-executive’s office they received notice Queen City wouldn’t serving them before they ever received a dumpster.

Residents outside the cities of Elkton and Guthrie were left without a trash collection option at the end of June after Republic Services announced they’d be ceasing service in Todd County.
