A man was killed in a wreck Saturday afternoon on the Pennyrile Parkway in north Christian County.
Thirty-four year old Matthew Childs of Dixon was headed south near the 26 mile-marker about 4:20 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and it rolled multiple times as it crossed the median, according to Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham, who says the SUV landed upright in the northbound lanes.
Other motorists stopped and pulled Childs from the vehicle and attempted CPR, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Mike Stokes.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Department, Christian County Rescue Squad and Crofton and Mannington fire departments assisted at the scene.
