One of Hopkinsville’s newest restaurants, Tacos el Papi, celebrated its opening Thursday morning with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.
The ribbon cutting was held at the business, located in the building that once held Little Caesar’s, with Chamber representatives, community members and staff. Carlos and Stephanie Mendez opened the restaurant with the desire to bring authentic Mexican food to Hopkinsville and Stephanie says they appreciate all the support they have received.
The building and those who will work there were blessed by Father Basilio Az Cuc, who joked that the only way to truly bless it was to be sure and eat plenty of tacos.
The menu includes a variety of items including homemade tamales, carnitas, burgers, quesadillas and tacos with several choices for type of meat. For more information and to stay up-to-date, follow Tacos el papi on Facebook.
