Deer causes I-24 wreck

A deer on the interstate caused a single-vehicle wreck last week that injured two Fort Campbell men.

It happened about 9:45 p.m. last Wednesday, according to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department report, which says 18-year old Jorge Benitez was eastbound near the 92 mile-marker  of I-24 when he swerved to miss a deer and lost control of his car.

The vehicle struck a guard rail on the right side of the road before coming to rest.

Benitez and his passenger, 20-year old Gerardo Correa, were both taken by EMS to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital for treatment of injuries.
