Unemployment down across Pennyrile last month

Unemployment fell in all nine Pennyrile counties from March to April.

Christian County’s jobless rate was 4.5 percent, down from 5.2 percent in March and down from 6.1 percent one year ago. That represented 1,138 people who were looking for work, but who were unable to find it.

Todd County still has western Kentucky’s lowest unemployment rate at 3.5 percent, down from 4.1 percent in March and down from 3.9 percent in April of 2017.

In Trigg County, the jobless rate was 4.6 percent in April—down from 5.4 percent in March and from 5.6 percent a year ago.

The highest jobless rate in the Pennyrile was 6.9 percent in Livingston County.
