The former Todd County deputy jailer accused of engaging in sexual activity with an inmate appeared in Todd Circuit Court Wednesday morning for arraignment.
A not guilty plea to two counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of first-degree official misconduct was entered on behalf of 42-year old Kimberly Ward, who said she has moved from Elkton to Tennessee.
The indictment alleges that she engaged in sexual activity with a male inmate while working in her capacity as a deputy jailer between February 26 and April 19, which were also her hire and termination dates.
Judge Tyler Gill appointed her a public defender and set another court date 14 days away.
Ward has not been jailed for the alleged crimes and was allowed to remain out of custody following the hearing.
