Women’s Empowerment Conference a big success

The Minority Economic Development Initiative hosted a successful fourth Women’s Empowerment Conference Friday, where women of all generations and backgrounds joined together.

MEDI Executive Director Henry Snorton says the turnout to the event was fantastic and it was their goal this year to bring women of all generations together to discuss empowerment from many different viewpoints.

He says the conference is all about learning from one another, and MEDI began the event because they saw need to empower the women of the community and benefit the community in turn.

Snorton urges both men and women to attend, saying if you’ve ever felt like you were being held back and need motivation—this is the event for you.

The day was filled with panels, conversation and speakers spreading inspiration and knowledge about women’s empowerment in today’s society and how it was in previous years. The message of the day seemed to be unity, confidence, assertiveness and reaching out to empower others.
