A section of US Highway 62 near the Hopkins-Caldwell County line that had been restricted to one lane for over a month while crews made repairs following a landslide is back open to two-lane traffic.
After remaining restricted to one lane allowing the base to settle, a new driving surface was placed on the repair last week allowing the roadway to reopen to normal two-lane traffic flow, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd.
The landslide happened during an extended period of heavy rain on February 23 and an alternating traffic signal has been utilized at the location during repairs.
