An arrest warrant for assault was served Sunday against a Hopkinsville man accused of putting a woman in a Nashville hospital during an alleged incident last month in Oak Grove.
The warrant alleges 27-year old Maurice Lane of Hopkinsville struck a woman multiple times on the face causing bleeding to her brain and a broken nose. She was treated at Tennova Hospital in Clarksville and then transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The victim had been at a party and got into a scuffle with other females at that location. As she was leaving, Lane arrived and began the assault, according to the warrant. Another person intervened and stopped the assault.
Lane is charged with second-degree assault and is lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
