HHS principal resigning

Hopkinsville High School Principal Todd Marshall will resign from that position, effective June 30.

He submitted a letter to the Christian County Public School System Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill on March 29 saying he’s only resigning as principal and not from his employment in the district as a tenured, certified employee.

Marshall concludes the letter by saying he awaits notification from Ms. Gemmill for assignment to a position for the 2018-19 school year that meets his certification and qualifications.

In a statement to WHOP News, Marshall says the last few weeks have been difficult as he deliberated with his family and friends as to whether it would be best for him to stay or to move on to career opportunities that have been made available to him.

Marshall was chosen by the Hopkinsville High School Site Based Decision Making Council in July of 2016. He is a graduate of Hopkinsville High and previously served as principal at Todd County Central High School.
