Justice Center to close from 10:30-12:30 Wed. for Officer Meacham funeral

The Christian County Justice Center will close for about two hours Wednesday to allow employees and staff to attend the funeral of Hopkinsville Police Officer Phillip Meacham.

The Justice Center will close at 10:30 a.m. and reopen at approximately 12:30, according to Christian District Judge Foster Cotthoff, who says district court jurors do not need to report on Wednesday. The disability trials set for that day will be rescheduled.

Those jurors will need to call or check the website after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April, 9th to receive further instructions.

All Wednesday morning regular dockets will start on time and will conclude by 10:30 a.m.

Judge Andrew Self’s 1:00 p.m. criminal docket will be delayed and will not start until 2:00 p.m.

City of Hopkinsville offices will also be closed in observance of the funeral between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Flags are to remain at half-staff until the close of business that day. The administrative offices of the Christian County Sheriff’s Department will close at 10 a.m.

Funeral services for Officer Meacham will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Christian County High School gymnasium. Visitation is Tuesday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the gym.
