The University of Evansville has named Walter McCarty as its new coach. The Evansville native played collegiately at Kentucky and in the NBA, and worked with former Louisville coach Rick Pitino in the Cardinals program. He has spent the last three seasons as an assistant with the NBA’s Boston Celtics. McCarty replaces Marty Simmons who was recently fired.
