The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will be closing soon for renovations and Director Alissa Keller appeared on WHOP News recently to give details.
Keller says the renovations are a longtime coming, as the museum has been open for nearly 42 years and she urged everyone to come see it before they close so they really appreciate the changes.
She says they will keep the historical integrity of the building while improving it, and their exhibits will be new designed and visitor friendly.
Keller says the building will be updated with a new handicap accessible bathroom, but it will still have that old post office charm when people visit.
The museum staff are working with an exhibit designer and an architect to bring the remodel to fruition. It’s their hope to make the exhibits more story driven about the community. The renovations are expected to be completed sometime in 2019.
