Semi wrecks on WK Parkway

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department investigated a single-vehicle wreck Wednesday afternoon on the Western Kentucky Parkway.

It happened about 3:45 p.m., according to a news release, which says 56-year old Yaroslav Vasylyshyn of Tacoma, Washington had been headed east at the 39 mile-marker near Nortonville when he lost control of his tractor-trailer and left the parkway.

His semi struck several trees before coming to rest upright in a wooded area.

He was taken by EMS to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville for treatment of injuries.
