Trenton Community Chest begins fundraising campaign

Trenton’s Community Chest, an organization that fundraises for causes important to that city and Todd County, is beginning its 74th annual campaign.

Half of all money raised this year will go to the City of Trenton to help replace the town’s police cruiser that has visible signs of age and wear. Last year the Community Chest donated a large sum to help make a new Trenton Volunteer Fire Department building possible and it also gave cash to the Guthrie flood victims.

Other charities designated to receive help from the Trenton Community Chest this year include Pennyroyal Hospice, the Todd County Rescue Squad, Sanctuary, Grace and Mercy, the Trenton Community Cemetery, Blount Clinic, Todd County Project Graduation, Todd County 4-H and Edgewood Cemetery.

Volunteers will be collecting donations door to door Sunday, but those wanting to assist can also give in other ways. Donations can be dropped off at Trenton City Hall, at the United Southern Bank of Trenton, or they can be mailed to Trenton Community Center, PO Box 27, Trenton, Ky. 42286.
