Madisonville Police report a decrease in violent crime in 2017.
Chief Wade Williams says their yearend report shows a 28-percent decrease in violent crime in 2017 and a 26-percent decrease over the last six years.
Madisonville officers made over 100 drug arrests last year that resulted in almost $1.5 million of illegal drugs being removed from the streets.
There was also an 11 percent decrease in auto-collisions last year.
Chief Williams says Madisonville Police participated in over 200 community events last year.
