An investigation of an armed man causing a disturbance on Calvin Drive Monday morning ended with the arrests of two people for drug and gun-related charges.
Hopkinsville Police were called to 1713 Calvin about 7:20 a.m. regarding a man banging on the front door of a home while holding a shotgun and found 33-year old Mory Cortez Burse and 39-year old Lekesha Hughes of Hopkinsville in a vehicle parked in the driveway.
Hughes told police that Burse had gone to the front door with a shotgun and a computer check revealed there’s a domestic violence order prohibiting him from possessing a gun. Investigation also determined the gun was reported stolen and that Burse is a convicted felon.
An arrest citation says a baggie of cocaine was found between Burse and the door of the police cruiser after he was placed under arrest. He was charged with violation of a DVO, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct. Hughes was arrested for receiving a stolen firearm.
