Former Fort Campbell soldier sentenced to life in prison for sexual abuse of a minor

A former Fort Campbell soldier has been sentenced to life in federal prison for aggravated sexual abuse a minor.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Kentucky, 40-year-old Larry Nash of Nokomis, Illinois, formerly of Fort Campbell, will serve life in prison to be followed by a life-term of supervised release, on the charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor.

While enlisted in the United States Army and stationed at Fort Campbell, Nash knowingly caused a minor in Christian County to engage in sexual acts. He did so on multiple occasions between March of 2020 and September of 2021, using force against the victim.

The victim was older than 12 but under the age of 16 when the assaults occurred, and was under Nash’s supervisory control. Nash sexually abused the same victim for several years prior as well.

There is no parole in the federal system.
